Why Verbs Matter

Recruiters skim resumes in seconds, and the first word of each bullet carries disproportionate weight. 'Helped with sales initiatives' reads as supportive and secondary. 'Drove $2.4M in new pipeline through outbound prospecting' reads as ownership and impact — and it's saying the same thing about the same role, just with different framing. Verb choice doesn't change what you did; it changes how it's perceived.
